Fang Chu has established himself as a speaker, community servant and researcher. He is the PhD student in the Department of Information Systems specialized in computer simulations in financial engineering and risk management. Elected as the Club Representative in fall 2008, he is committed to voicing the concerns for all the clubs and societies in New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Prior to joining NJIT, he received his BS degree in Computer Science majoring software engineering from Tianjin University, ranked among the top 5 engineering schools in China. He had been the Chief Secretary of the Student Senate in the School of Computer Software, overseeing the daily operations, particularly student programs and activities for over 400 students. He also briefly served as an election advisor in the College of Chemical Engineering. As a senior student, he won the precious opportunity along with seven others from Tianjin University to join the distinguished Project Management Program in Motorola (China) Inc., co-managing a state-of-the-art decision support system project for the New Product Development division.
Born and raised in Shijiazhuang, the capital city of Hebei Province in the vicinity of Beijing, he currently resides in Kearny, NJ. He is a great admirer of John F. Kennedy and firmly believes "A man does what he must - in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures - and that is the basis of all human morality."
