Why Become a Rep?

Our mission is to provide a structure through which graduate students work together to improve the quality of graduate student life. By becoming a leader in the association, you will gain direct access to social and educational events, travel opportunities for conferences and seminars, and opportunities to establish connections with university leaders.

As a GSA representative or officer, your work entails representing and articulating the interests of graduate students, promoting communication between students, faculty, and the administration, and overseeing the graduate student activity fee in its use to improve the graduate student experience at NJIT.

Becoming a graduate representative gives you an opportunity to help promote and encourage the professional growth, social and cultural development, and academic excellence of your peers and colleagues.

Requirements & Eligibility

Any currently enrolled graduate student, full-time or part-time, and who is maintaining good academic standing (minimum 3.00 GPA) at NJIT is eligible to be elected to a position in the General Assembly.

For the role of the department representatives, students must have completed at least one (1) semester or equivalent credit load at NJIT and must have prior involvement in campus activities. Consult the Election Packet for further details on eligibility.
