NJIT 101

So you have made up your mind to come to NJIT and are probably all excited to get here. For a lot of international students the excitement drops to a minimum the moment they land here. It's a new country, new customs, new lingos, and new people. Sometimes, this becomes a bit too much to take in, compounded by the fact that they have no clue about what to do next.

This doesn't have to be the case for you! We, at NJIT's Graduate Students' Association (GSA), are here to ensure that the stress in those initial days is not multiplied by mundane events like how to get to places, where to eat, and what to do next. It is one of our goals to ensure that your transition to this new way of life is what it should be - exciting, fun and overall, a great experience.

With that in mind, we have compiled this document to take you, step-by-step, through your first few days at NJIT and more importantly in Newark, NJ.

Hope this document can put to rest those pre-arrivals jitters that all of us face!

NJIT is a fun, educative, close-knit family, with a lot of fun stuff to do and a lot of knowledge to be gained. We definitely love it out here and hopefully, you will too! So, bon voyage, and we look forward to meeting up with you soon!

We are sure you'll love the NJIT community, and the sights and sound of this city - We definitely do!
